IEREST seminar in Leuven

On June 4, 2015, the Faculty of Arts at KU Leuven hosted a one-day seminar on Strategies for Integrating Intercultural Learning in Student Mobility. Over fifty participants from a range of countries contributed to the presentations, dialogue tables, and the roundtable on how to sustain project results once the project term has expired. The focus was on three exploitation strategies: integrating intercultural learning in the regular practices of the institution (‘mainstreaming); enabling new actors outside the IEREST partnership to adopt the learning activities (‘multiplication’); and tailoring the learning activities for target groups other than mobile students in higher education (‘stretching’). Thanks to the great variety and expertise of the participants - international officers, intercultural trainers and teachers, representatives from NGOs and companies, project managers - challenges to sustainability were not only identified but also tackled in proved and novel ways.
